It’s time to let your Mom see the world through Rosé colored glasses. After all, she’s the one who gave up wine for nine months, endured 13 hours of hard labor, and has spent the time since thinking about you more than she’s thought about herself. Show your Mom how awesome she truly is – pick up one of these really fabulous (and pretty) Rosés for her today.
Aix Rose $14.99
We love a bit of French Provencal Rosé in our lives from time to time, and this offering is like summers day in a glass. It’s the palest of pinks to look at, and shows red berries, orange rind and sweet cherries on the nose. The palate is light and dry, with spiced red fruit flavours, a lick of dried herbs, soft tannins, and a decent, dry, slightly creamy finish. This would be awesome with some seared tuna.
From Walla Walla’s distinguished Long Shadows Vintners. Light pink in color with aromas of strawberry and orange peel. The style is dry but there are sweet fruit flavors and clean acidity. This is a light and refreshing drink. 98% Pinot Grigio and 2% Sangiovese.
Commanderie de la Bargemone $14.99
Bargemone always tends to be on the lighter, fun side of the Rosé spectrum. Light strawberries, and watermelonrind flavors complimented by a lighter body, frash acidicy and wonderful minerality. This Rosé is a wine that you will want to reach for on a hot summer day!
La Spinetta Rosé Di Casanova $19.99
Pale pink with orange reflections. Elegant Rosé and wilted flowers with tart cherry, pomegranate and honeysuckle aromas. A complex and serious wine, that allows for aging with mineral and floral final. La Spinetta’s Tuscany Estate lies in the village of Terricciola between Pisa and Volterra
The nose is a perfect marriage of piquant gooseberry, ripe canary melon pencil lead and wet granite. Bone dry on the pallet, the striking mineral notes intermingle beautifully with flavors of lime curd, orange rind, D’anjou pear and Rosé hips.
Hogwash Rosé is a blend of fruit from two classic, iron laden Rhone vineyards: Alamo Ranch Vineyard in the Central Coast of California and Eagle Point Ranch in the cold southeastern corner of Mendocino County.
Bright, fresh, and clean with a top note of watermelon near but not quite to the rind and replete with bright alpen strawberries –juicy fresh in the mouth, alive on the lifted and minty palate. As one with an appetite for food friendly wine and not looking for a stiff cocktail 12.5% is welcomed. In a world where few Rosés are more than merely quaffable, this wine has presence, spice, texture and confidence –a delight!
