I love Chardonnay that’s not a big oak monster, and a fan of a more moderate style – and Alma Rosa is my new favorite Chardonnay. This lovely, well-balanced, slightly creamy, yet fruity Chardonnay is medium bodied and great to sip while tossing together dinner, which is what I did two nights ago.
Recently during the annual Sommelier Challenge International Wine Competition 12 sommeliers from some of the nation’s finest restaurants gathered in San Diego September 11th and 12th to evaluate 635 wines and this 2008 Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County won GOLD.
Wine Advocate gave her 91pts and at $12.99 at Wine World Warehouse, I’m bringing another bottle home tonight.
