Brewed locally in Ellensburg, WA., with the rich body of a traditional Irish Stout, Quilter’s Irish Death is a dark, smooth, Ale. Irish Death is a malt bomb. We lovingly refer to it as beer candy. While tempting to session this beer, the name is a necessary reminder that despite it’s being surprisingly approachable, this beer weighs in at a hefty 7.8% ABV.
It’s mild nose is characterized by dark toasted grain. Dark brown and opaque. Extremely well balanced malt and toasted grain flavors, hopped just enough to counteract malty sweetness without overpowering. With a slight bourbon-y taste, and plenty of coffee notes, it has a bit of a smokiness to it as well. Not fitting directly into any one style or category, this beer is it’s own master.
