Lincourt Vineyards, Chardonnay 2007

Lincourt Vineyards, Chardonnay 2007 Lenny Rede Wine WorldThe Rancho Santa Rosa Vineyard is located in the Santa Rita Hills region of the Santa Ynez valley. The property has steep, south facing hillsides and a soil mix of sand, loam and limestone, and the unique cool maritime influenced climate tempered with southern California Sunshine. One would be hard pressed to find a more textbook place for growing chardonnay.

It is here that Bill Foley planted his vineyard. Taking a page from a burgundian playbook, the chardonnay is hand harvested, whole cluster pressed and fermented in French oak, then a touch of malo, to take off the edge and left sur lie for 19 months before bottling.

A beautifully rich wine that is well -balanced and structured with a core acidity and a streak of minerality.  Aromas of roasted apples, lemons and ripe melon on a long, lingering finish.
