The 2011 Nisia is made from 100% old vines Verdejo. The youngest vines in the vineyard were planted in 1942 and some are over 100 years old. Mature vines and low yields provide grapes with a lot of depth and intensity that is enhanced by sur-lie aging in both French oak and stainless steel tanks. Beautifully aromatic, this Verdejo shows complex flavors of white peach, apricot and tropical floral blossom with some minerality and clean citrus-y finish. This would make a great summer sipper by itself but some of it’s best friends are fish.
