Sangiovese Suggestion for Thanksgiving Wine
Just because Turkey is considered “white meat” you don’t have to drink white wine with your turkey this Thanksgiving. In fact a red wine might go better with many of the dishes on your Thanksgiving table. Many Washington State Sangiovese wines are a perfect fit – the aroma of these wines are usually bursting with cherry, raspberry and pomegranate. Sangiovese will pair well with a moist turkey breast but it will be great with the darker meat like turkey thighs. This red blend wine often has the acid and fruit to complement your cranberry side dish. This wine can be a little sharp if using an Italian Sangiovese for a large group, but domestic versions usually are known to have a more mouth pleasing soft, lingering finish. It has the body to marry with your potato dishes from garlic mashed, oven roasted, or au gratin potatoes. Sangiovese is soft enough to please before you start eating, and yet just bold enough with some structure to entertain the real red wine lover at your Thanksg...
Tequila at Wine World and Spirits
Tequila bottles are awesome. Designers take the uniqueness of the tequilas they are designing for and they create the most interesting and eye-catching bottles. These bottles are great for displaying around the house and they’re fun to collect. I went around the Wine World & Spirits tequila section looking for some of the best high-end tequila and tequila bottles in Seattle. I had fun checking out the Kah Tequila skulls, the beaches of Manana, the black Stallion, and the normal looking Scorpion Mezcal. We have tons of other tequilas here at Wine World. Definitely come in and check them out....
Vodka
You know what’s cool about working at a giant wine, liquor, and beer store in Seattle? Pretty much everything. We have a lot of fun here at Wine World & Spirits. There’s always tons of wild events going on. We’ve done grape stomping, parades, movie nights, and tango dancing in the last few weeks. At one of the events, we had the chance to meet Ian MacNeil from Glass Distillery and we ended up chatting about one of the best vodkas in Seattle. See him talking about Glass Vodka at Wine World here. We’ve been working on expanding our vodka and high end vodka selections over the last few weeks. Definitely check out Crystal Head Vodka, Purgatory, Ink, Blue Water, Blavod, Black Sam, and Mud Puddle. If you like the flavored vodkas, we have a huge selection!...

We are the best place to buy high end Scotch in Seattle! If you don’t see something that you are looking for, definitely ask our liquor guys about it. We might be able to special order it for you! Ian MacNeil’s Glass Vodka is HOT!
Ian MacNeil from Glass Distillery visited Wine World & Spirits with his new, sexy “Glass Vodka!” This gorgeous small batch vodka is amazing and for a super premium vodka it seems it should be selling for way more than $49.95. Never one to shy away from the spotlight or quietly accept convention, Ian wanted Glass Vodka to represent a taste for curious rebellion. They have spared no expense in his ultra-high end new distillery in the SODO area of Seattle. For the story and more on Ian and glass, click here! 2010 Rotie Cellars Dre
Wine World and Spirits is happy to say that we’ve managed to get our hands on a few cases of Dre 2010 from Rotie Cellars. Ben Reece from Corfini Cellars: Dre is short for MourveDRE. This 100 case lot hails from Alder Ridge block #34 which is perched about 500 ft. above the Columbia River in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. This quaint little spot is ideal for Rhone varietals such as Mourvedre due to its high heat indices, constant wind flow and insulation from the river preventing catastrophic winter freezes. Inspired by some of the great old producers of the Rhone Valley, Sean Boyd decided to take a chance and bottle this as sort of an homage to their go-to-end-of-the-day Mourvedre heavy blends. Soft red fruits and mineral on the nose followed by a lively and surprisingly “bright” portrayal of the characteristic dark fruits inherent to the varietal. Though savory and gamey notes persist throughout, the wine resists the urge to be one dimensional and carries a superb balance of f...
