Sommelier Arnie Millan presents the Introduction to Wine Class series beginning Sunday, April 21st, until June 23rd. The program of six classes is scheduled every Sunday (except June 2nd) from 3:00 until 5:30 p.m. at Wine World & Spirits at 400 N.E. 45th Street (98105), just of I-5 and the 45th Street exit. Kana is a native word for the spirit or the fire within a mountain, in reference to the perceived supernatural power of volcanic activity. The Yakima and Columbia Valleys are awash with volcanic soil influences, providing terroir from the millennia of "Kana" escaping from nearby volcanic mountains, to lay resting as soil for our world-class vineyards.

You may think of white wine when pairing oysters but many will argue that nothing beats an oyster paired with the right beer. Taylor Shellfish will be shucking oysters for only $1 each and you get to decide which is the “right” beer pairing for you!
Wine World will be pouring a selection of beers for you to pair with your delicious Taylor Shellfish oysters. Ten breweries will be competing. It is their mission to create elegant, approachable, food-friendly wines while delivering back to the earth. Pumice and stems are reduced to compost by local farmers; their lees are recycled into secondary, useable products; local craftsmen transform barrels over six-years-old into works of art; and natural cork closures are used on all their wines.
Tonight, enjoy a tasting presented by one of Yakima's best established wineries, Sheridan Vineyards with Big John Caudill, along with a new kid on the block, Sun River Vintners, and meet their lovely and feisty Wine Ambassador.
